ive a knocking noise coming from the of my A4 B6 1.9 tdi 2002. i just replaced the shocks and springs with coilovers. now the car is on 19" rims and sitting nicely even with a full car. so its not sitting on the tiles. but anyway the noise was there before i replaced the springs and shocks. so if anyone can help out with eliminating as to what i can check. and also maybe thinking about replacing ie bushes and that many thanx
Most likely the C links that attach the anti roll ball to the front front lower arm.
But could be any of the front arm bushes or balljoints.
I take it you released the inboard mounting bush bolts, including the rear beam bush center bolts when you lowered it and re-torqued at the new / lower arm angles? If not they will wear out a lot quicker, in fact if they have not ever been replaced they are due on a car that old. Lowering without making those adjustments will soon finish them off.

The C links connect the lower front control arm to the anti-roll bar. The C links are easy to identify, as they're shaped like the letter suggests. Normally the rubber bush wears and it develops too much play. While you're there I'd replace the front ARB bushes which hold the anti-roll bar. Both parts are relatively inexpensive. Use Lemforder or Meyle which is OE and genuine Audi rubber ARB bushes.
More details here. This is for B5 model, but B6 is exactly the same. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/74853-B5-A4-How-to-replace-your-Front-Sway-Bar-Uplinks-Stabilizer-Links
