Did all A4's have a 'Lights left on' warning buzzer? If so, where is it located? I can't seem to find one? My guess would be light switch or steering column... I'm searching on an A4 b6 2.5 SE avant. Thanks in advance!

If your car has one fitted, it will be in the area behind your clock/gauges binnacle, the one on my 52 cabby used to work and now doesn't.
No fuse for it and real awkward to reach so I have not bothered

You can make your own lights on buzzer for 99p worth of stuff from Maplins

Thats exactly what I will do if the Mrs keeps moaning about it

You could turn up the wireless!

Ha, no she is moaning that the buzzer isn't working and says that I am neglecting her car now I have my 97 cabby to fiddle with.
I just tell her to get into the habit of checking everything is switched off before she leaves the car, like we all used to before gimmicks like buzzers were introduced

It's worth the 99p fix tho and you'll score huge brownie points on your skills, technical prowess and concern for your wife.

I know it's an easy solution, but I'm wondering if there is something I need to repair before I look at making my own additions! Cheers for the binnacle suggestion, hadn't considered that!

You simply wire it between the ignition "on" wire and the side lights. You can use fuse adaptor if you wish. I don't think a diagnostic scan will help I'm open to correction in that.

Its a reletively easy fix to be honest, the buzzer does more than just the lights on it is an audible warning for all sorts including oil warning, low pads and empty washer bottle. The buzzer is on the rear of the cluster, i bought a second hand cluster from ebay and simply cut the buzzer off and soldered it over the broken one on my cluster, all in took about 30mins start to finish. You can buy a thin speaker from maplins that will do the trick also.

Wouldn't have a how to guide before I start breaking invisible latches etc, thanks

Bit of a coincidence, I'm a new A4 owner and noticed that it didn't give me a warning when I left lights on which I thought a little strange for an Audi.

However the buzzer worked today so maybe just tempremental

No buzzer when lights are on could be caused by a number of things.
Does the door show open on the DIS, do the interior lights come on when door opened?

Yep, all works fine but no buzzer for lights, fuel etc, so getting it in the neck now
