Hi guys
Am new on here as I have a Black edition bitdi Avant on order, in daytona grey, the build week is scheduled for week 37, so hoping to have it mid october, but i've just seen reports of a facelift coming out in early 2015 with the new led matrix lights etc.
Would be a bit gutted if the reports are true as i've been waiting long enough and the car is loaded with a ton of options so the gadget freak in me can't wait, but i'd be seriously torn if there was a new model out early 2015 about whether to wait for the new one.
I did ask my dealer if there were any planned updates (whilst spanking their R8 V10 Plus on the M23! :biglaugh:) and his typical salesman response was Audi dont tell us these things, which could well be true, but I'd forgive him for lying to me owing to their generosity with my extended test drive in the R8!
It would be nice to hear something other than speculation, does anyone know anything??
Cheers
Graham
A7 (virtually the same car) facelift was announced a couple of months ago and first deliveries due later this year. As night follows day, the A6 will get the same treatment (probably with some standard A7 kit as options) in the near future, most likely announced in the next month or so and available sometime early next year. Of course this is 'speculation', however absolutely in line with previous Audi facelift policy and timelines. Trickey decision whether to wait or go ahead with your current order ...

Facelift is apparently due to be announced in the next couple of months, probably Paris autonshowmin October. Then as per the delay on the A7, orders for the facelift will probably be taken November or December. Deliveries then march or April. If things are a little quicker, then delivery February. However would you register a car February with the reg change 1st march?
So yep, there will be a facelift coming. Updates will most likely include the latest mmi setup so you can have the map in the driver info screen between the dials. Matrix lights will be an option and there may be other items like the black pack on the RS6 instead of the full blown carbon option.
Other than that, changes are minor (another is slightly larger gear change paddles on the RS6)
However, dealer contributions are likely to evaporate on the facelift, and IF the order books open in October for all models, then to get the facelift will add another 4 months to your wait IMHO.
I'm same as you, gadget mad, so the extra mmi thing was a draw, but its not a "new" model, its a couple of minor changes. Another on the A7 is the sequential indicators, which is cool, but all considered I'm not bothered about waiting for the facelift.
Delay may be longer for some models. New facelift A7 has been out a while, and you still can't order the RS model yet.

The new matrix led lights look great, but I would imagine they would still be an optional extra.

On the A7 the matrix lights are standard on the S-Line/BE whilst the SE Business and S7 get standard LED. Pre-facelift A7 had Xenon as standard across the range so the change to LED makes sense. May be that on the A6 we will the SE get Xenon and S-Line LED with matrix an option. Who knows?

A long way away and I'm happy with the car I have. Unlike some ;) ^
The tri turbo, if and when it comes does sounds tempting though, but I fear it will be packaged as an S or an RS with a premium that puts it out of range for a lot of the current BiTdi owners and me specifically!
