Hey All,

This is my first post as I have just joined so please bear with me :)

I have just bought a 2010 Audi A4 TDi SE and it had the halogen headlights, after browsing on the internet and following a tech guide on here I have fitted canbus ready LED light into the DRL area of the headlights....the problem is only one of them works, the middle one next to the indicator, the outside ones don't appear to work...I took the headlights out this evening to see if all were connected ok and to swap bulbs over in case I had two duds, I connected the headlight whilst out and the 2 bulbs lit up, happy days, I then siliconed the cut outs back onto the headlights and put everything back together, to my horror only the inside bulbs work again when i turn the headlights on....am I doing something wrong :( :( I have also seen a set of lights from a 2013 A4 which have like the halo ring as the drl lights, the seller says they will fit a 2010 A4, is this correct?

Please please help me :) :)

Welcome.

The 2014 lights are Xenon and to be legal you need headlamp washer jets and self beam levellers to be fitted so it can turn into an expensive option. The facelift lights may not fit your prefacelift by the way.

You may find your issue is down to cheap Chinese crap, buy branded bulbs and you should have no issues.

Cheers for the input, I've just commented on the thread on here showing you how to do it and the guys lights look the same as mine, half is working and half isn't....I swapped the bulb from the second headlight into the other one so I know all bulbs are physically working, I get no errors on the dash to say a bulb is out etc.. am totally lost, all I wanted was a whiter looking DRL light :(

Post a pic of the DRL halogen replacement bulb and let us know where you got the bulbs from. That may eliminate the 'buy cheap buy twice' comments you'll be getting.
You may also note that when you turn the headlights on the DRLs turn into sidelights and one on each side goes out. Both will be on when it is just DRLs on - is this the case with you?

Haha what a dummy I am, thank you so much it is indeed the case :) :) have just been out now and both lights are on on both sides, yesterday evening the auto lights turned on so it would have turned one of the drl bulbs off, thank you so much for providing the answer before I went crazy :)

Just out of interest, who is a good, safe supplier of the P13w LED's required to do this mod? Do they still function the same as halogens ie; dim when indicator flashing?

I've used the fella from ASN - 17w to 12v versions seem to satisfy a lot of guys on this forum. and yes ref dimming but in our case the outer bulb will go out when the indicator comes on. If you find someone really clever you canget VCDS to canx that out and all other wondrous things. Not managed to find someone near me (leatherhead) to do this yes.
