For sometime now have marvelled at how VW seem to consider the indicator units we have are adequate.
That dim single filament bulb can't be seen in direct sunlight, does not illuminate the whole of the indicator unit's length, can't be seen at an angle much greater than 180° from side. Yet it seems to meet Construction & Use regs.
So that's alright then...
VW have form on this. The earlier Passats and Jettas were fitted with side repeaters. Passats for the n. American market had to have an extra LED in their rear cluster showing sideways to increase visibility.
And only having one reverse light is not enough.
Rant over :aargh4:

So fitted the "red" version of these this weekend:
NEW arrival VW Passat B6 led drl daytime running light super bright with auto off, dimmer and yellow turn light function-in Daytime Running Lights from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-arrival-VW-Passat-B6-led-drl-daytime-running-light-super-bright-with-dimmer-function-and/1983377970.html)

as a cheaper alternative to the Dectane units. Plug & Play, canbus friendly, and on special offer.
