I've got a B5 S4 Avant in my collection of dodos in Imola Yellow. I bought it as a non runner as a retirement project. Then I bought a 'few' others. I was told that it needed a new pair of turbos, I suspect that It'll need a complete engine re-build. Is 326 BHP standard on these, or has yours been mapped Zollaf? I bet you're miffed that you can't run it on chip fat though:D Perhaps an engine transplant beckons, shove a 1Z or an AFN in it :D

mine has had a map by mrc. standard is 265. they really are awesome cars. the only transplant i have planned is a pair of frankenturbos. :) i already have a front mount intercooler to go on and should see 500 bhp. thats about the safe limit for the block and internals. the gearbox will take 750 bhp. we have just rebuilt the box with a new 1/2 shift collar and carbon syncros.

So I can expect 265 horses then. Mine is totally standard as it left the factory no mods or maps (Yet) I do have a full milltek S/S exhaust to fit when I get round to it. I'll re-build the engine then see if it can get a power upgrade. Not sure if we'll go to 500 BHP though.
I bet you find a difference between your 80TDi and the S4 Zollaf, must be a bit like jumping out of a Transit and into something like a Ferrari. No offence meant to the 80TDi

the biggest difference is i can go out 10 times in the tdi on 1 tank of fuel. only been out in the s4 5 times and filled it up 4 times. :(
there is plenty you can do to the s4, we have fitted some nice silicon hoses and it has a stainless exhaust, but a map forge diverter valves will see over 300 bhp. its th torque though, comes in from nowhere at 2000 rpm, almost like driving diesel, except it keeps on pulling past 7k rpm.

I know the feeling! My A8 4.2 (ABZ) can't drive past a petrol station, it has to pull in to quench it's thirst;) And now I've gone out and bought a W12 6.3. Oddly enough though it seems to use less petrol, perhaps it's due to more cogs in the autobox, To balance things the Wife plans to downsize from her A7 to an A3 E-tron. That said she likes the look of the R8!
