Chaps

My A6 will be a 1 year old in October [with me that is, 5 years old total] so time to stump up for a service and mot.

Looking at it's history, it was a high miler on variable. I will put it back to fixed and get it a full service too.

Audi want £329 + £49.99...................

The local indi that did my brake pads recently have quoted the following, does it look reasonable??

Looks ok, though the MOT is pricey IMO. As you have a written quote and if you want an Audi stamp ask them to price match (as long as Indie is <15 miles from dealer)

Good idea! MOT is a little steep, but rather get it all done at once. See if they can move a little on that!

Had good service from them when they did my brakes as let me supply the hardware, they just charged labour. And told me they rear pads were fine so refinished them instead of charging me labour. I like honesty!!

Talk again to the dealer if you want the service stamp. I'd talk to the indie, they want money too, and sometimes they are easier to negotiate with.

If you don't go to the dealer make sure they use genuine parts whoever does the work!!

Yup. Good call Chris. Shall double check. Have left it in the hands of Audi if they want to get close to the Indi price.

Some rather good news - Audi Huddersfield [Sytner] price match if within 15 miles and can show proof. Sent them the quote from the local garage and it's been ok'd. So full service and MOT for £222.48 with Audi stamps. Happy days, i guess!!

Or next time just do the service yourself, pay around £100 or so on genuine Audi parts and save yourself at least £100.And believe me that nobody will take more care and attention with your motor than yourself.I gave up paying for Audi stamps a long time ago.....

Then save yourself money and get a better job done at a specialist! Audi don't care about your car, they want it in and out in the quickest time possible.

My specialist fixed problems Audi couldn't or misdiagnosed!!

Fair point. Most businesses just want your money and don't care these days though. The local specialist charges more than Audi!

Look for an indie with mad hair, wearing ex-RAF overalls and smoking an extremely thin roll up. He's your man
