2003 A4 question

Hi guys,
I'm new to this site. I'm after a little advice if possible. I have bought a Audi avant 1.8t. 2003. The car has the BEX engine currently but it's buggered. I have bought an engine from my pal but it's a APU engine. He tells me this will fit. Do I need to replace or get anything sorted as don't want the car over fuelling etc....... If so please could you let me know.

Hi, i do know that the BEX engine code is the 190 bhp version, it runs 2 intercoolers and i believe a bigger turbo than the APU engine code. I would really recommend changing like for like as there may be issues with fuel/air ratios, exhaust etc etc.

What is exactly wrong with your BEX engine............let me guess oil starvation from blocked pickup pipe in the sump?????

Hi, I bought the vehicle with engine knackered. Looking at the cams they are scored to death so. So guessing oil starvation.
