Noticed the driver side door trim coming adrift so took it down to the dealer for some new clips. You could clearly see the lugs on the front 3 clips were broken and there is a conveniently located slot in the trim to allow these to be slid out and new ones inserted.
Hmmm - I've seen this before said the advisor. We'll need your car for 3 days.

Its a single trim around both doors so we'll need to replace the whole thing. To get to it we need to remove the rear 3/4 window which is bonded to the car, and obviously we will have to re-bond that.
Well can't I just have new clips?
No we wouldn't do that. Don't worry sir its a warranty repair so it won't cost you anything.
Getting to the dealer twice in a week during opening hours is a problem for me so I dropped it off on the weekend and will collect next weekend. Fortunately I use the bike for commuting. When I dropped it off I mentioned to the guy that checked it in that I would be perfectly happy with new clips. Again I was assured that "we would never do that" :dunno::yikes:
