Yet another problem..... Left the car parked up for 4 days and come back to an air bag light. I've read that it's most probably the wires under the seat.
If it is this once repaired, I wanted to know if a universal code reader would clear the light or if it's a case of vcds be the only way to erase it.
Thanks in advance wish this car would stay problem free

Scan it first of all, might be something else. Vcds will most definitely reset it but not sure about other readers.

Thanks, any recommendations for anyone with vcds round the south west? Wouldn't mind someone having a go at coding in my mfsw set up see if they can get it to work, and also do the airbag at same time.

Try chris's vcds user map.

Just plugged it in, it's the divers side 01217-225 fault. So is this the yellow 3 pin block connector under the seat. I have some heavy contact electrical cleaner is that worth a shot before I start snipping? And how do you hard wire it in as the connector looks a fair size

Be careful! Some airbag faults have to be repaired before clearing the codes

All sorted, thanks for all above help. Cleaning and refitting didn't work. So I Cut out the standard yellow block connector and replaced with bullet connectors with insulation tubes and reset. Road tested and all works spot on no lights, so very happy :)
p.s didnt use vcds to carry out work a £25 code reader from ebay that can read the airbag faults separately worked perfect.

Arggggh...... fixed for a day or so and now it comes back on. Plugged it in and was showing the passenger side this time. Reset and light stayed off. Got a mile down the road and it came back on. Same fault as before. Really is getting annoying now, is it likely to be the same area again or could the other connector at the back of the seat cause it? One day it might stay problem free!

You'd be better soldering them rather than using connectors imo.

I was told soldering creates to much resistance for it, have people had more success with that then?

Really struggle to see how audi get there build quality and reliability at times, :zx11:
Soldered drivers side comes back on, car giving faults for both passenger and drivers.
So did passanger aswell as drivers and solderd both.
still on.......
Could it it be the one at the rear of the seat or is there a problem else where?
p.s nice Dalek
