Hi Guys

Whats peoples thoughts on changing the rings from chrome to shadow Chrome or black on the black edition models

I am concerned black rings would make it look as if the badge has fell off on the front grill

Anyone got any experiences of them

Personally I think black emblems on cars look tacky. As you say some can look as if the badge has dropped off and you are left with the black rubber sticky base showing. Much prefer shadow chrome, they have the dark effect and have a lot more class about them imho.

If you are going to have truly dark emblems, then go for carbon fibre ones, at least then they will look better than the black ones you see on some cars.

Never really paid much attention to what they are on the various models. Ideally I would like mine to be brushed aluminium to match the exterior trim pieces Ive opted for, no idea where to buy bits from for modifying Audis though, never had one before.

I got black badges for my Q7 which is a black edition & have to agree they did not look good at all they were on for about 2 hours then back off again just did not look right.

One thing I hated about my Porsche was the silver inscription. Yet the base spec model got nice black letters.

Too much chrome on cars these days, and that's the antithesis to the Black Edition. Black chrome is a good compromise, and if I wasn't a perfectionist who needed templates (for the rear) I'd do it too. Don't do CF unless there's genuine CF somewhere else on the car as that can look really Ripspeed tacky.

Depends on the colour of the car...black badges on a white car look great....on any other colour look chavvy!
