On hols. Got to the destination after a long drive, as pleasant a drive as you can have - the A6 is a great long distance tourer.

Anyway, the drive into the place we're staying is on a bit a slope. Didn't like the look of it - and didn't like the sound of it as a crept over the crest and scraped the undertray. Aborted mission and parked elsewhere.

The owner did say it was only Audis that get stuck. Probably the long wheelbase and the 20mm lowered suspension on the S-line doesn't help I'm sure.

Would air suspension help? Can you jack up the suspension for this type of problem?

Yes, there's a 'raise' setting with the air suspension on both Allroad and non Allroad models, although I believe the Allroad goes higher than the standard car.

And, of course, the allroad starts off a little higher in normal driving mode (dynamic drops it to around stock sline it think).

what does not help is the front (and rear) overlap from the axles to the edges of the front and rear under trays, this is quite long and reduces the approach and departure angles somewhat. In other words the front of the car sticks out a lot from the wheels and reduces the angle of incline you can get up. Having lowered sline suspension will further reduce the approach angle you can deal with.

Allroad air suspension config
-15mm is same as standard A6 height
0mm up to top speed
+20mm up to 120km/h
+35mm up to 80km/h
+45mm up to 35km/h

In this video the under tray probably hit the soft mud a few times. Not their car I guess :D
