I have done a bit of searching and can't find the right answers. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

I have a 2004 B6 S4 with 3-spoke steering wheel.

My main problem is that I have to use the electronic seat memory to shift the seat so that I can get in / out of the car: my knees argue with the steering wheel!!!

So I figure that a flat-bottom steering wheel is what I need. I figure that while I'm at it, I should go MFSW too.

The question is, how do I get one of those to work nicely with my 2004 B6 S4?

Please realise, I'm not asking for alternative solutions to my problem. I'm simply trying to fit a flat-bottom MFSW to my 2004 B6 S4.

I understand that I can easily buy a replacement steering wheel such as this B7 steering wheel:

New Audi B7 A4 S4 RS4 Flat Bottom Black Leather Silver s Line Steering Wheel | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-AUDI-B7-A4-S4-RS4-Flat-Bottom-Bla-Leather-Silver-S-Line-Steering-Wheel-/111236606131?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e637e8b3&vxp=mtr)

I need to know, can I use my existing airbag (from my current 3-spoke steering wheel) with a new airbag cap on the B7 steering wheel?

Surely this can be done?

Cheers and thanks in advance for your help an advice :)

The airbag on a b6 is single stage, b7 airbags are duel stage.
If you do fit an alternative steering wheel there is No way of knowing if the bag will Work in a crash.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

From what I understand, the single vs dual stage airbag is fixed by modifying the harness?

If I can get around that, can I transplant the airbag from my current 3-spoke B6 steering wheel with a new airbag cap?

The airbags are completely different. You would need to get the B7 airbag too & come up with a work around for the B6 single stage activation.
This would work but not multifunction.
