The car
2002/52 plate
A4 B6 cabriolet (http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/dp/B006057T8U) sport 2.4 petrol v6 front wheel drive manual 5 speed
Currently on 5 spoke sport alloys, from factory
8eo 601 025e
17" 5x112 et45 c/bore 57.1 7.5j x17 h2
With 235/45/r17
The proposed replacements
18" 5x112 et42 8jx18
With 225/40/18
The replacements are on e/bay as a package, brand new, wheels/tyres/lockers etc delivered at a reasonable price.
The sellers' ref chart shows the item as an appropriate swap/fitment.
What I would like to know is whether the wheels will stick out more from the hub, or retain the original stance, given the different et of 3mm, when in conjunction with a wider rim of half an inch but with a narrower tyre of 10mm less.
I tried to work it out using a fitment guide on the net, but having gone through the forums' wheels/tyres section it would seem that a few of you chaps find the charts and calculations far simpler to understand than I do.
I am quite happy if the proposed package pokes out a little wider so long as we dont end up like carlos fandango, as the originals do give the car a bit of an over bodied look.
Anybody have experience of the seller autocraft-online
The package is for the Scirocco turbine 18" at £549 with 225 rubber.
If I have missed any relevant info required, please prompt
Many thanks in advance
