Key coding

Question gents, I'm trading in my B6 Passat for a B7 Passat, I'm keeping one of my old keys which is the same as the B7, now can the key be re coded to work with my B7. The reason for this is my new motor has only got one key.
if this is possible, who can do it?

Are you buying the car from a dealer? It's a lot of work swapping them over, maybe impossible with the immo transponder.

If you're buying it from a dealer, get them to supply one. If not then buy one, they aren't dear. And fwiw the keys may look the same but may have differnet internals and operating frequencies.
