Quick question. I shall be towing a race car with a 2007 Audi Q7 from the UK to Hungary. As it shall be in the height of the summer, has anybody had overheating issues? My car does not have the factory tow package which I believe has a larger alternator and some additional cooling items (not sure what). Any modifications that help with cooling issues that should be done?

In addition, I have the paddle shifts, do people generally use down shifts to brake rather than using brakes where possible?

Any help much appreciated.

I'd be surprised if you need extra cooling...q7 can pull 3500kg max weight according to Audi specs....for the 3.0 tdi anyway.
And changing down would be the sensible method of slowing....just have to think a bit further ahead.

I'm pretty sure the towing prep was only required on the 8K A4 chassis cars. This then became standard fit.

I fitted a Witter detatchable to my A3 and it pulls anything with ease.
