Hi
I have an A4 1.8T 2008. The car broke down and I have traced the problem down to a slack timing chain. I purchased a new chain tensioner and timing chain cover as the original one was damaged. I have fitted the new tensioner and set up the timing, however as soon as the engine is turned over the chain slips and jumps teeth.

Can anyone suggest how to resolve this problem.

thanks

Are you sure the engine wasn't damaged by the chain before you changed it? The timing needs to be exact and you should mark the positions before you remove anything. Here's a good write up on it. Hope it helps.
