B7 Audi A4 - A few days ago i started to hear a noise like something is loose when i was closing the boot so of course i had to investigate. I took the cover off the boot and found what was making the noise.2486924870
I noted that the mounting clip is broken off and can not find from where. I tried looking up the part number and had no luck. Everything works (power latch and all) so if i have to guess this has to be some kind of part for the alarm? maybe an anti shake sensor? if anyone has a clue i would really appreciate your help.

Maybe my eyesight is wrong but the part number seems to show up on a US site for VW. Some housing or other for a convertible, possibly for the wiring to add a motor. That's if I read it correctly
The eyesight cannot differentiate between the 5 and 6 if there is either. My apologies for leading you on a goose chase.

what car is it? cab? saloon? estate?
year?

can you take a picture further zoomed out so we can see where exactly these bits are?

how does the first photo relate to the second?

what part numbers can you read? does that microswitch have a part number on it?

The silver looks to be the underside of the boot lid.

The part number on the plug 893 971 633 is for the plug which is used in the entire VAG range.

As slippy says, is there a part number on the microswitch?

Slippy, it is the saloon version and the part is located on the underside of the boot. The other picture was just a close up of the number on the microswitch which is PBT GV20. I seemed to have found the microswitch on ebay and it is described as "saloon rear bootlid tailgate locking mechanism micro switch" but there is nt much in the description. It looks like everything seems to function (alarm, lock, and nothing comes up on the dash). I might just secure it and forget about it.

It looks like the switch that you press from the outside to open the boot.
