Direction Indicator Relay problem

Hello

The direction indicator relay on my A6 has suddenly begun to stay clicking for about 10 -30 secs after I have cancelled the switch

When its clicking it is not operating the direction indicator bulbs .With the DI switch in a lh or rh position everything behaves OK

Any ideas please

Not an uncommon problem - it is the flasher relay. Fairly simple change - the relay is part of the hazard switch in the center console. Carefully prise out the switch surround around the hazard switch (and poss cup holder and other buttons). The button can then be pulled out. Hopefully you will have enough slack on the cable loom to be able to reach it and get it off - if not you will probably have to remove the radio to reach behind the button.

Seems to be a very common fault - I have replaced mine twice now. Very easy to replace.
