Seems odd writing about preventative maintenance as previous servicing did not prevent engine failure (a little problem with a valve!!). In any event I have a donor engine and making a replacement for my car using the old and replacement engine. Plan to change belts and reuse all the front bearings, thermostat, cams etc etc which I replaced circa 13k miles ago on the failed engine. Anyone with advice of any seals or simple ancillary parts I should replace now that engine is sitting nicely on a bench?

Cambelt with auxiliary relay rollers, water pump and thermostat. I would also check and rebuild the aux. belt tensioner as well while at it. Check the clutch and crank seal too...
