Advanced key / Convenience Key

How do i know if i have convenience/advanced key. I tried for keyless entry as described in the manual. But door doesn't open/close as described. I have to use lock/unlock button on the key. But i have engine start stop button.

Engine stop start is standard on A7. But the advanced key is an option.
If you have that you should be able to press by the square cutout on the door handle and it locks, just to confuse they all have that cutout area!
If the doors are locked then putting your hand behind the door handle will unlock it.

Yeah as above, they all come with the little square cut out on the door handle but touching that only works if you have the advanced key. No A7s have a key you put in the dash, they are all on a button and work with they key being inside the car.

Its a shame they didn't go that little bit further and just enable the buttons on the door, my wife loves it on hers.

I bought mine from unregistered dealer stock as had a good deal hence i had no choice for options. Convenience key and folding mirror should be standard. Do you know anyone who can retro fit this things?

I have had a good experience with retro fitting from hazzy days. (A quick google will find their site). They do things that aren't on their website too so just send them an email asking for what you are after.

Cars with convenience/advanced key have aluminium trim on the exterior door handles. At least this is the case on the A6.

My A7 has Advance Key, touching the rectangular button locks the car - My door handles are body colour (White) - So, maybe different to the A6.
