My car is a 2009 Audi A6 tdie se I have noticed if im in lets say 5th or 6th and the revs are low if i put the foot down the revs go up and then drop maybe 100-200 rpm and then continue reving.

Does this sound like the clutch is starting to slip?
I was worried it is but I dont here the car reving hi as if its slipping. The speedo goes up smoothly just the revs drops and then goes up!!

Any ideas pleas?

Get it scanned for faults, how many miles are on the car?

if revs rise then fall but road speed doesn't when your only pressing the accelerator ie, you haven't touched the clutch pedal at all, then i'd say it has to be clutch slip.

Yes i noticed today when up in 6th gear but not going fast enough for the revs i floored the accelerator pedal and the revs rised and dropped then rised again and dropped worse than before also the gear indicator was flicking from 6th to blank a few times.
Unfortunately i think the clutch is slipping.

Yep time for a clutch and a new dual mass flywheel.

It's possible to drive it yes but you might be doing more damage in the long run.

crucial not to let it slip as this damages the flywheel surface which may otherwise be in good condition.

Paul - is you clutch juddery in 1st when cold/wet? [something mine is doing and driving me nuts, all fine once the car has warmed up, or it's a warm day]
