LED number plate lights(501 bulbs)

I have some 501 LED Can-bus ready number plate bulbs, they don't light up when fitted so i thought i would try them in an older car. They worked fine in the older car so i'm guessing because they don't draw enough they just don't work? I know on older cars such as b7 audi a4 that they would work but put bulb out light on.

Any tips would be appreciated.

If your car is 2010 onwards apparently you can fit these genuine numberplate lights in LED but you will need VCDS to turn off the monitoring for them.
