Starter motor hanging out, wheres the bolts gone?

My 2004 1.9tdi is driving great, my daughter borrowed the car to go to a friends last night, parked up and had tea then got in car to come home and all that happened was a whurrring noise, no engine turn over so i had to go and look, sure enough starter not engaging fly wheel, strange i thought untill i looked down and saw the starter hanging out from the top, no bolt in it.......

that worried me alot because who knows what could have happened whilst driving.

so its parked up and she is going to get the bolts from VW parts so i can fix later today...

now, should i be worried about anything else around that area, car still drove ok so hoping when i just bolt it back in with locktight its good to go ?

Yes, just put them in as tight as you can

Not ideal as you are liable to sheer a bolt off.
Two types of bolt were used M10 45Nm and M12 65Nm. Regards Peter

all done but what a pig to put the top bolt in.....sheesh.
