Gear Box Issue

Evening All


I have had a bit of unusal experience on my way home tonight... i can select 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear as normal but when it come to the rest, im struggling


4 & 6th initially sounds like its bitten then grates as i apply the power
5th will go in but unless i hold the gear knob with pretty much all my strength, it pops out.


Is it a clutch flywheel issue or does it sound more serious ? The clutch has slipped a few times recently


Any light anyone can shed on the problem would be greatly appreciated

Might be a linkage or selector problem.
Not sure how you would check though.

I would think it might be clutch related, the fact that your clutch is starting to slip could mean that the clutch is not fully disengaging when your trying to change gear. I can make some assumptions about why 4 - 6 are giving you problems but I'll leave that to a resident mechanic to comment further
