Hi all thanks for any information I'll try and be quick I bought this golf from an auction I love the car high mileage 140 k 1 company owner full service history had it around 3 months done about 3000 miles all of a sudden whine in turbo had it tested in garage told turbo gone bought reconditioned turbo from ebay (reman-tec ltd) with a one year warranty it's only a standard 105 bhp but before turbo went on acceleration get to about 80 mph all I can describe the symptoms was like a sort of misfire stuttering a bit no limp mode etc eventually the turbo give up the ghost I don't drive flat out everywhere just steady anyway the recon turbo I've had fitted from reman-tec 2 days ago by a qualified mechanic said the car is fine, when I picked it up he advised me after 500 miles another flush change oil and filters taken but driving it today same thing happened again under load going up a hill the car lost all boost no engine management lights but felt like limp mode so I thought the worst turbo gone again after just 36 miles, pulled in turned ignition off turned back on turbo back to normal on that I phoned the mechanic that done the job he advised me to take back to garage for diagnostic which I did I don't know what a vagcom looks like but this machine wasn't one from what I could tell I asked him was that a vagcom he told me no this was better and worth 7k more than a vagcom anyway the code came up overboost condition logged in the ecu now I don't nothing about this he said it could be one of 2 things either the turbo which I can't imagine after 36 miles or a n75 switch also which I don't know nothing about, ok I paid £279 for the turbo had the car flushed full service including belt, water pump air filter, fuel filter new oil and filter 450 labour and about £180 for the service parts I'm scared to drive the car now just incase the turbo goes again I can't afford this again I've spoke to reman-tec the turbo is fully warranted it haven't happened again today but I'm driving it like a baby waiting for the pop other than that I love the car and want it right any ideas opinions I really like this car somebody with more logic than the mechanic that done it for me all he is wanting is more labour money to try the n75 switch he wouldn't gaur enter the work as I bought a refurbished turbo not a new one any ideas thanks in advance
