Hi everyone,
Does anybody have access to the wiring diagram for the back of the radio or the quadlock connector in a 2005 golf ???

The reason i ask is i am wanting to fit an aux in buthave read that due to my radio not having silver button (mine are black) this cant be done but me being one not to go down without a fight believe it can be done

At the moment i have a IPOD connection under the armrest the 30pin plug type now i would like to think that if audio can be supported from that then somewere on the back of the radio there will be a left right an ground which is the 3 connections i need to support aux in

So can thisbe done i have read the the radios did hace CD-L and CD-R and earth so i am still hopeful

Also I have tried multiple adapter from female ipod connection to aux and none work so am looking at a different root due to me having the iphone 5 s and wanting to play music in the car

Thanks for any info anyone has

Anthony

Have a look at this :- Volkswagen Head Unit Housings and Pins | my-gti.com (http://www.my-gti.com/1294/volkswagen-head-unit-housings-and-pins)
Also on this site you will find answers to all your likely questions on this matter.

Attached is a diagram of an early RCD300 radio's pin-outs.

There are 2 ways of getting audio into an RCD300: Via the CD changer interface and via the telephone interface.

It sounds like your car has some sort of iPod interface connected to the radio's CD changer connection. This is not a direct audio input though. Anything which pipes sound into the CD changer interface has to mimic a CD changer. If the radio does not get the correct signals, it will no pass through the audio.

The telephone interface is a direct audio input though, albeit only mono. If you connect your mono audio output into the TEL AF+ and TEL AF- inputs, when you ground the TEL MUTE input, PHONE will appear on the display and your audio will be passed through.

Hope that helps,
