Hi i just picked up a 2009 A6 tdie se when i looked at it a light came on the dash to say the passanger side rear light brake light issue. I just presumed it was a bulb.
I picked it yesterday and removed the light to check the bulbs and there fine. As it goes it look like the leds are the brake lights anyway.
My light has a crack across it and had a fair bit of water in it.
The passanger side lights dont light when the brake is pressed even the ones on the boot lid.
If theres an issue with the electronics in the cracked light would it stop the boot lid leds working?

Yes correct, the brake lights are LED, any of them dim or out?

Water has probably soaked into the electronics and fried them. You need a fault scan.

Lights turn on on the light but when the brake is pressed the passanger side of the car does not light up even the ones on the bootlid!

Fault scan needed still, preferably with VCDS.

Am assuing sold as seen with no warranty or you'd be asking them to foot the bill?

Since only three posts you may not have or be aware of what VCDS is? Would help if you inserted your actual location as 'A, A' means nowt to me and you could be my next door neighbour and I could scan it for you with my VCDS! :D

I'd be expecting them to pay for the repairs as they've sold you the car with the damage and water ingress.
