Audi A6 S line ride quality

I have a 2003 6 and planning to change, took a drive in a 2011 "S line" A6 and found the ride awfully stiff and uncomfortable; even driving over manhole covers appeared to "Jar" the car, I'm thinking it is due to the sports suspension and low profile tyres. Was very disappointed then took a drive in a 2008 model TDV and found the ride more comfortable. Just wondered if anyone else feels the ride is too stiff or maybe is it possible to adjust the firmness with the mmi console?

If the car has air suspension it can be adjusted. If not you will need to look at aftermarket springs etc

You'll get use to it, have had my Le Mans for 5 yrs and find it comfortable-ish.

Yup its a very firm ride. If you have any car with 19" rims and low profile its going to have the bone shaker feel but personally i like how planted it feels. Avoid a sline with huge wheels if your looking for family style comfort.

It doesn't bother me much now... It did at first but got used to it! Plus the Mrs struggles to put her makeup on in the car... 'Silver lining! '

thanks all for replying, I think I could get used to it but don't know if I could put up with all the complaints from my family, in can hear a few "oh nos"" when I suggest travelling in my care rather than my wife's!

It's fine, not as bad as it first seems. Tyre brand plays a big part also.

As does road condition in your locality......I find a few local roads highlight the firmness but once on decent roads and speeds the car takes on a very different feel and really is a pleasure.

compared to my lowered Civic Type R I think the S-Line (now with 20s) is very comfortable indeed
