Crafter aftermarker stereo fitting

Hey guys,

Having a bit of trouble with the whole CAN BUS thing.

I have an 07 crafter and I am trying to fit an alpine stereo, but there is no ignition feed as its controlled by the CAN BUS. I dont want to mess up my ECU.

Also I was sold an adapter which seems I do not need, as the harness on the van connects straight to my headunit (with the headunit adapter, ISO standard I guess) so I am unsure why they sell these?? They are all over eBay so I wasn't sold it in error. Are there two types of connector?

So where would this adapter fit in???

And how can I make it so I have ignition power?

Getting really confused with it all. Please help....
