Hi guys, quick question,

I have an A3 2.0 TFSi quattro and was wondering about the tyres. They are 225/40/18, do they have to be N2 rated or just extra load rated?

Thanks in advance.

Andy

Anything 17' upwards will be XL I think, mine certainly are.

I highly recommend 'Goodyear eagle F1 asymmetric 2'. I paid £444 all round. Looked at many reviews and they came out one of the best for the S3.

Well originally I went onto Car Tyres Online | Fitted Locally from ASDA® Tyres (www.asdatyres.co.uk) - now you might think... Asda? Tyres? But very cheap with some good brands, same tyres as me £114 each (fitted) instead of the £111 I paid. Check it out. You pay no deposit, just reserve the tyres and pick a local fitting centre and on the date you specified, they fit, you pay - bosh! Bargain!

Camskills are offering them cheaper but not fitted. Goodyears are very quiet and an improvement over my Dunlop Supermaxx that I replaced

Everyone raves about Camskills but once fitted it's hardly worth the agro. Yes I previously had audis standard Dunlop sports contacts which were shocking for grip and durability.

Avon ZZ3 are another brand which I've used and would recommend! But I wanted the change and after reviews the Goodyear was the way forward for the S3.

If you go with F1 they also offered a free wheel alignment check and as I bought the tyres they only charged me £30 to make the changes (not affiliated to F1 but was happy with their service)

Fuel offer? I take it it's something about saving fuel with their tyres and perhaps refund the difference of some sort?

They give you a pre paid card I think it's £50 if you buy 2 or more 17', £75 for 2 or more 18' and £100 for 2 or more 19'.

I got it last year when buying my PS3's, will be getting it again when getting my Primacys.

Good spot Chris! I benefitted from it last year. This year's promotion runs to the 30th April. I might take advantage of it again.

I cheaper but brilliant tyre i have found on mine are the uniroyal rain sports,i got them because a few of my mates were running them on big power evos etc with no issues so i thought i would give them ago as i have had dunlops, michelins etc in the past and even they were ok for grip i thought the wear life was terrible,i dont think you can beat conti's for grip but then again very soft compound so they dont last
