I have a strange noise which only happens when I am turning right and gets louder as more steering lock is applied, I can only hear it at relatively low speeds and it only happens when going forwards not backwards, and it seems to be more pronounced first thing in the morning when cold and appears to get quieter after a few miles.
The noise is a whar whar whar sound, my thoughts are either wheel bearing or drive shaft CV joint although I've been told it could be the steering rack.
Anyone got an idea what this could be and how to diagnose further.

Check the brakes are not binding and the splash guard backplate it not touching the disc, before going down the bearings route.

I've checked and I can't see anything obvious so I'm going to take it into the garage to see if they can work out what is causing the noise.
It seems to be worse first thing in the morning so obviously cold and only when applying right hand lock to the steering at low speeds, it is probably there at higher speeds but the others noises are masking it, want to get this sorted so I can replace the front tires and get the tracking checked as it does wander ever so slightly to the left as well but not sure if the two symptoms are related.

If it wanders to the left it could be the car just running down the camber.
