I fancy replacing my RCD310 with an alternative head unit. I fitted a Dynavin D99 satnav, DVD IPod, RCD radio , double din Headset.
i had to butcher the dash to fit it, so there was no going back to the original once fitted.
i wasn't over impressed with the sound quality to say the least, the CD packed in after 6 months, had to send it off to be repaired under warranty. I liked the Park Distance Control via the original parking sensors too. I haven't got PDC on the Golf and I miss it, so fancy a reverse camera.
Has anyone had , or used an ANS 510, which is a look alike to the VW RNS510. I looked at getting a used RNS510 but they are pricey and don't include bluetooth. I presently have a parrot 3100 for the hands free, it works fine but spoils the dash somewhat.
Kenwood do an alternative, but looks too aftermarket, I like the OEM look.
id be interested to hear of anyone's experiences.

My aftermarket HU was far more basic than that, but I avoided anything too garish and overpowering but it did have a built in Amp which made all the difference. The standard speakers sounded poor, but improved drastically when driven properly - No butchering required.

How to (or at least how I) change a Stereo in a VW Golf Mk6 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?68925-How-to-%28or-at-least-how-I%29-change-a-Stereo-in-a-VW-Golf-Mk6)

Well I'm ordering an aftermarket headunit this week, I'm going for the ANS 810. It's got an 8' screen, bluetooth to replace my Parrot, Sat Nav, iphone and USB integration. Also SD card slot. I'm fitting a rear view camera too. No butchering of the dash needed. It has an interface similar to the RNS 510. I toyed with the idea of getting a OEM RNS 315 but decided against it in the end and went aftermarket with a 2 year warranty from a UK reseller. I just hope its a good decision !!!!
