I have recently retro fitted an RNS 510 into my MK6 Golf 1.4 TSi. Being the sad person I am (according to my wife), I like to listen to audio books via the SD card, however every time I received a message or email my phone (iPhone 5) the unit switches to the Bluetooth function of the radio, disrupting my story and forcing me to switch it back to the SD input. Has anyone else found this and can it be switched off in some way so that only the phone function works via Bluetooth ?

I'm not 100% sure but at least on my android I can disable the function for audio streaming? this may be an option for you

Many thanks for that Apples12, I turned off mobile data for emails in the iPhone settings, that has seemed to stop email coming through whilst on the road and interrupting the SD card. I can live with only getting them on WiFi when I get to my destination.

I think you may be able to change the user profile for your paired phone through the MFD using the buttons on the multi function steering wheel if you have one fitted. You should be able to change the profile of your phone to accept calls only when connected to the RNS 510. This should stop the interruption when listening to a SD card when a email or text comes through....

Didn't work. After the retro fit of the RNS510, not having a VAG COM I could not repeat the navigation features on the display, or activate the voice command etc. This may be part of the problem, I need to find someone near Chester with a vag com I think, to check the car recognises the new unit Any suggestion welcome.
