Hi All,

Washed my A4 this morning to find that two of my alloys are peeling. I bought the car from Birmingham Audi in December 2013 and they had the wheels refurbished for me to get them 'factory new' Ive only washed the car 3 or 4 times due to the weather and always used halfords car wash liquid. I wash my other A4 in exactly the same way and had that car for around 18 months and never seen this issue. The car is still under warrantee what do you think guys and girls?

I can imagine it only getting worse and worse:zx11:

Thanks :D

Well suppose no harm in taking it back and showing them.

You need some IronX or Iron Out on those wheels ;)

I'll be interested to hear how you get on.
Just picked up a '10 with those wheels on and I thought it strange they were unmarked. Just been and had a close look and I'm pretty sure they've been re-finished :-[

Mine done the same from an Audi dealer. They got them re-done but a year later it happened again! Try and get them to finish them properly. Powder coated!!!

**Update**

Birmingham Audi have agreed to get them re done. They said the will need the car for 2 days, hopefully its only them two wheels for now. Happy with the customer service, having purchased two cars from them in the last 2 years I didn't have to complain much.

Yep, looks like they've just been blown-over on the cheap. Doubt they were even baked, the lacquer hasn't bonded to the base coat properly. The only way to get a long lasting factory finish is by powder coating.

I have those wheels too and they are so vulnerable to damage (a dirty look will scuff 'em). I'll bet every used Audi with wearing them in un-marked condition has had them refurbed at some point....

My S Line went back with 141k on the clock and the original wheels were still mint despite being washed with TFR and a jetwash regularly, so I'm sure this was just a cheap job gone wrong!

Good to hear that Birmingham Audi have agreed, I always used them for my servicing and always had 110% service from them, couldn't be happier!

Now I'm with "The Dark Side" (3 pointed Star) I am using a Mercedes Dealer in Stratford Upon Avon, and some of the service staff from Audi Birmingham have gone there. Great for me, same level of service here too!!
