Remote keys

Hi guys,

2004 130TDI Sport, recently the range of the remote keys has become really short i.e. if I stand besides the driver door it's fine but if I'm behind the car only 5-6 feet it doesn't work. Same for both keys, I've changed the battery in both keys so assume it may be an issue at the car end, any ideas??

Hi,I am having trouble with central locking on the fob on a second hand ibiza I have just bought and funnily I seem to have more luck getting all doors to lock/unlock when at rear of car-and have just changed the battery also .Not sure what this means or if it just a coincidence.
Was thinking of changing my battery again but wondering if module is at rear of car or in boot on the ibiza?Although I have Passat not sure w`here module is?

I have always had lots of help on this forum especially Passat (also run a 130PD with 212K)but am coming up blank on the ibiza part of this forum so if anybody has any thoughts or knowledge about central locking please also take a look at my thread on there.

Hi,

I've come across a few VAG vehicles that does this seems very common, as a general when you reprogram the remote into the car sometimes sorts out the range on the remote (if you have 2 keys for the vehicle you can reprogram remotes yourself check the net for instructions) If not you will have to order new remotes from a locksmith.
