Hi All, I had 2 nsf suspension arms and cv boot fitted on my Passat TDI last week and the garage mentioned that the front tyres would soon need replacing. There were no problems with the ride of the car after having the suspension arms and cv boot replaced. I had the 2 front tyres (Michelin Energy) replaced/wheels balanced this morning at a reputable tyre dealer and during my journey to work, noticed a difference to the feel of the drive and a feeling of vibration through the steering. I have contacted the tyre fitters and have arranged to take the car back and will ask that they do a rebalance and also tracking. I must admit that, with the amount of mileage that I do, I have had plenty of experiences with potholes and troughs in the road but assume that as the problem has started since the tyres were changed, the cause is likely to be the balancing and/or tracking. Does anyone have any other suggestions please ?

Check the wheel bolts are tight.
Could just be poorly balanced.

Went back to tyre dealers and had balancing rechecked, tracking was OK, inflation pressures OK, wheels showing no sign of distortion, and had the front wheels with new tyres put on rear, suspension and cv joints checked, but still not happy with the feel and apparent vibration. I have noticed a chafing sound from the top of the steering column when turning so have now booked her back into the garage to be checked over.

Garage reported all OK but made a slight adjustment to the balancing on one wheel, and suggested that the feel would be different due to the recent replacement of the suspension arms.
