View Full Version : esp light on
Ive a 2006 jetta tdi and im having probs big time. The esp light is on all the time and wont turn off and I don't like the results im seeing on others threads about this fault :aargh4:the engine management light is on too and its giving the fault as maf or vaf, is there a volume air flow sensor on these vehicles. Passenger door only opens now and again and ive been told I need a new actuator, can anyone shed any light on these problems.

Have you scanned the vehicle with VCDS?

Rosstech say replace it - 16486/P0102/000258 - Ross-Tech Wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16486/P0102/000258)
Get a genuine one from VW.

Cleaning the Air Mass Meter is as much use as dancing round the car singing a children's nursery rhyme, if fact it may do less damage....
Do not buy an AMM from ANYWHERE except a VW dealer or TPS, not Bosch, nothing-no mater how good a deal it seems or whatever the person trying to sell it to you says.

I don't know but if I knew which engine you have I could find out....
Got a maf sensor today from a friends golf, exactly the same as mine, put it into my jetta, cleared the code and after every third start the em light comes on with the same code. Put the maf back into the golf and no em light on. The fault shows as one of two faults but both the same code either maf or vaf. Where do we go from here and why only on the third start, you can drive for miles on first and second start and light doesn't come on. :aargh4:

You need to get your engine and ABS ECU's scanned for fault codes, you should not guess what is wrong but yes it could be the BRAKE light switch but not worn discs and/or pads.
