As above, I had an ibis white A6 s-line black edition today and it was very nice. 2 litre 175ps engine with the s tronic gearbox and a few options including adaptive cruise, active lane assist and a few other bits. It was very nice, the steering felt very well weighted, slightly better than in my A7. Leather seats with no heating is a big no no though and wasn't pleasant first thing this morning.
It seemed underpowered for such a beefy looking car, as did the 2 litre A5 I test drove a while back. So was glad to get mine back this evening.
The only downside to it (apart from the engine) was the noise! The road noise was unbelievably loud. I guess it was due to being on 20's but I don't have the same sound in the A7. It was a shame and ruined the experience really.
All in all, a very nice car.

I've had my black edition saloon 2 litre for a little under 2 weeks now and must admit i don't particularly believe its underpowered. Yes i would have loved the 3 litre but the budget wouldn't push that far with the options I wanted. Definitely the best car I've had though. Although come Sunday I'm picking up a 1996 lexus ls400 for my run about as the Mrs has commandeered the a6 and I've been left with an old BMW 3 series.

I suppose it's all down to what you're used to. I'm used to the 3 litre and live in the country so need that instant punch to get me round all the doddering 40mph do gooders in a 60 zone.
If I lived in a town or city I think the 2 litre would be perfect and I would have absolutely no problems with it. As I say though, a lovely car for the day.

I suppose. I know for a fact though If I'd test driven the 3 litre I would have ended up getting it but then struggled for payments. Glad I didn't drive it to be honest as then I'd know what I was missing out on. Still i'm happy with it, on the off chance I actually get to drive it.

I can vouch for that, as if I get the A6 it has to be the 245PS after the test drive (also my BMW seemed awful in comparison to the A6 driving to work this morning)

I have the A6 2.0 Multi S Line. I do not find it underpowered at all and my last car was a Merc C350 CDI. Yes it lacks that extra oomph if you want to press on but I don't miss it. I drove the Merc like an idiot because it was so fast but feel safer having a car that is adequately powered and driving in a more relaxed manner.

I drove a 2 litre BE which was dripping with kit and tbh I was very pleasantly surprised. The reasons I went for the 245PS were that I struggled to like the Multi box (it was before they brought out the S-Tronic on the 2.0) and no Quattro which was a deciding factor in coming back to Audi for me. I can see the sense in the point above about being able to safely overtake on back roads above as well, I passed a tractor and trailer yesterday (before it buried me in slime !) and the car following was a 2.0 tdi A4- I know this as he made a point of passing me later on up the road. When I took off round the tractor he couldn't stick with my Avant for toffee.

Don't think they have yet formally announced the S-Tronic on the 2.0 although it seems widely anticipated (perhaps for MY15), think OP may have been mistaken

For all you tractor racing Audis, watch out!

I believe that would be the multitronic, not s tronic, which is only on quattro, hence not avaiable on the 2.0 tdi
The 2.0 with S tronic has been announced as the A6 Ultra, so not yet available.
