Does anybody know when the A6 C7 mid life cycle facelift is due?
I read elsewhere it is early 2014?
With the C7 originally released early 2011 that would seem logical (if not a little early?)
No doubt a price increase but often specification increases also?!?

I think facelifts are every 5 years.
The previous A6 (C6) was facelifted after 5 years, so was the B8 A4/5/Q5 along with the A3 8P2 to 8P3 so I'd say they follow this trend.

I hope so (I think?)
I would probably hold my order if it was Q1 2014
BMW model life cycle is 7 years with (mild) facelift mid life cycle at approx 3.5 years

Likewise. I was looking forward to having the current face for a couple of years so I'd be a bit miffed to miss it by a a couple of months.

BMW facelifts were hard to distinguish between, it's more about lots of tiny tweaks, performance improvements and a little extra kit for a few extra £s
Im sure the A6 would be similar it just when?

No official pictures have been released so probably a while yet. Remember the C7 only came out in 2011, so MY2015 or even MY2016 at least.

I would think MY2016 (i.e. from May 2015) would be the earliest. This year they have the new TT and the new A4 to get out so doubt they would want the A6 to confuse things further. There are also mules of the revised A8 running around in Germany that would seem to be further ahead in the development programme than the A6

I think you are probably right, otherwise leaked images would be online - I hope to order mine on Monday

I read something about an ultra version being introduced this year and upgrades including small power increase on 2L tdi, quattro on same and dropping multitronic and going to the better auto. Whether or not these would coincide with a cosmetic facelift I'm not sure, might be a bit early, but I'm sure these changes are due this year.

This seems to be mainly changes to the engine options rather than any more significant changes that would justify the term "facelift" (the C6 facelift resulted in new front and rear bumpers and light assemblies plus the adoption of the 3G navigation system). We shall probably have to wait and see what materialises and when but it seems unlikely that anything significant will appear at Geneva in March (I would expect the rumour mill would already be in overdrive if that were the case, with pictures of lightly disguised cars being driven all over the place).

^ I agree. Don't believe anything you see on the Internet until Audi have released official info/pics.
From reading that article briefly they're talking about MY2015 spec changes.

As a general rule of thumb mainstream European cars have a 7 year lifespan, with a refresh usually after 4 years. So for the C7 you would expect an update in 2015 (MY16) as suggested earlier in the thread.

Hi migrating from the Passat B5 forum…..having had a drive of the 2.0 tdi I see that drive the deal and 'car wow' are offering the 'ultra' tag as an option for orders now. Less CO2, 190 bhp as opposed to 177 and more mpg for the same price as current spec. No dates are given for delivery however, but if these models are being offered it must be soon. Does not make any mention of kit/visual change though.

By way of update…..had 3 replies from different Audi dealers via 'car wow' for an ultra model tdi that with options i like at £7.5k under list price, so it seems that this facelift is pretty current.

On could argue that a new Engine and Gearbox represents a far more significant "facelift" than a few bits of trim and tinsel.

A new 2.0 engine would have little or no impact on someone planning on buying the 3.0 BiTDi. Sheet metal changes, new MMI system, standardisation of Bi Xenon across all models (typically things that might be defined as a facelift) would - not that I have any knowledge that any of these are planned or when, it is just by way of an example to make a point.

This plus the DTD changes seem to suggest a new variation is on the way, a bit like the TDie from the C6. Interesting that this time the more economical engine is actually more powerful and ever so slightly cheaper than the current model.

Does anyone know if there are any changes to the 3 litre model or any cosmetic changes?

No facelift yet, just the introduction of the 2.0 Ultra model which is only the engine and gearbox, no cosmetic/inteiror spec changes for another 2 MY's at least.

Thanks very much Chris… puts my mind at ease. I might have withdrawn my order if there was a significant change.

Just seen that Autocar (http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-cars-2014) are speculating that there will be an A6 Facelift released in November (A7 in September). Don't know what their source is for this

We'll see what's released in Geneva in March.
It's still far too early for a facelift going by every other model and the C6 schedule.

With a late '14 release probably more likely to see something in Paris in September

The Facelift for the C6 was announced in August 2008 (i.e. not as part of the usual MY updates announced in the Spring) with the first cars arriving at dealers in Autumn 2008, so that would fit with these dates.

I would agree. When the C6 was facelifted in 2008 at a similar point in its lifecycle the reveal was done in Paris in September.
