View Full Version : No Satellite connection being received

Odd one, drove into London yesterday and the sat nav was fine.

On leaving to come home, it had our position wrong, it also failed to move us in the correct direction relative to the way we were travelling.

I thought it may be down to starting the car up in central london, tall buildings etc. So once out of the centre I stopped and started the car again, but it was still incorrect.

On checking through the MMI, it had location co-ordinates showing, but it also said that no satellites were being received.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it something that can be cured by a reset (I did reset to factory settings, but this didn't fix it) or do I need to book the car in?

Thanks

GPS antenna could've failed, car is under warranty so get it booked in.

Resetting the MMI might be worth a go "Press Menu+MMI Knob+Upper right function button at the same time"

It could be that rain got in it. My previous BMW suddenly stopped receiving am as water got into the little shark fin thingy.

Could be a number of things. It happened on my inshitnia a few times as there is more and more that can jam a Satnav downlink freq. I'd give it 24 hours and if there is still no reception book it in or get a VCDS scan done.

So 5678, did it fix itself or something more serious?

Reset did nothing unfortunately.

Still useless as as it currently stands. Dealer can't fit it in until end of month.

The sooner this car is gone the better!

What dealer have you asked? Try Basingstoke.

I've had the gps go completely wrong several times on all my Audis in the past where the gps suddenly gets completely lost. In fact it happened a few weeks ago. I've found that putting in the destination again works, although your problem seems more serious.
