A3 1.9TDIE Sport 105BHP 59 plate Emmissions control system light & how to reset the service light

I know someone who has a problem with their A3 1.9TDI-E Sport emission control light - it came on and off for a while - now it stays on - is there a quick solution to fixing this problem without going to the dealer. They have tried driving at the speed recommend remove the sot but it just stays on all the time.

Also is there a simple way of removing the service light after a service without having to go to the main dealer?

Any advice from the experts?

Fault scan needed, more than likely the DPF pressure sensor but scan first with VCDS, while being scanned with VCDS you can reset the service light. If its the Oil needing reset there is a procedure in the handbook.
