AC Light

Forgive my ignorance but why when i start my car first thing on a cold morning does the AC appear to come on? If i don't touch it the car will heat up. If i turn it off, the car still heats up. Is there any purpose in this?

AC in cold weather will stop the windows steaming.

It should remember the setting before switching the car off.

Ac is in no way related to the heating or fan function. It takes the moisture out of the air, but can also cool it lower than the ambient temperature on warmer days.

The heater will still work fine without it. You may have windows misting up though
