Just wondering what type of Audi this is...

It looks to me as it is from the 80/100/200 series. It did, at first sight, resemble a 70s Silver Shadow.

i am not certain though, but thats what it looks like but with some optional headlamps. lovely looking car though, if rather poorly parked, crashed or abandoned, not sure which :)

Is it wrong to adore the older Audi's? ;)

Of course not - especially as many of them weren't older when we first started adoring them

back in 97 a mate had an 80 16 valve saloon in white with bbs alloys. it was mint, 3 years old and the best car ever. we all loved it. wish i had it now :)

First Audi I fell for was a quattro coupe (mid to late 80's) - behind the house my mum was renting at the time was a garage and it was rented by a guy who worked as a body technician and sprayer for Rolls Royce; I saw the coupe coming out with its fresh gleaming light metallic green paintwork and new alloys and I instantly fell for it
A few years later, a friend asked me to help him get his bosses car back to his house, and as I had insurance to let me drive anything, I was asked to drive his bosses car - Audi 100 Avant (2.2 litre, 6-cyl if I remember correctly) - stunning car, went like it was on rails and surprisingly quick for such a vast barge
By then, the VAG bug was embedded.......

It looks like a 200 turbo as has been stated. Less than two miles from me, tucked up in a nice warm barn in their own air chambers lie a pair of 200 Turbo Avants. Both one owner and both with less than 30K miles each. The same person has a white UR Quttro coupe and an S2 (Audi 80 Avant) both with a genuine 10k each on the clocks. He refuses to sell any of his car's in spite of being almost 91 years old. He's a former WWII Spitfire pilot who made his money from scrap metal, post War. I'm one of the few to be allowed anywhere near the Audi's. I keep them waxed and running and have done since the early nineties. He also has one of the very first A8 4.2 D2's, a former Audi press car, I think it could well be the oldest surviving RHD example left in full running order. His current road car (yes, he still drives) is a V10 RS6 plus Avant. It's just about done 5K Miles. I think it's safe to say that he likes his Audis.

I'll ask the owner of the Audi's next time I'm down there. I can't see that he'd object to photos being taken, but I will OK it first. It has to be said they are all very nice cars. Shame that they're all 'dodo's' they should be out there being driven!

Hi,
Right you are.
I had the identical vehicle, colour included. Higgins used to drive one - for those who watch Magnum
Mine was a 1982 and loved/spent a fortune it.
Worst part for me was that it was automatic and suffered from brake fade.

Hi,
Unfortunately not. I had her back in South Africa in 1996 when I wasn't really into photo's and didn't realise exactly how special she was.
Her body was perfect but some of the work I did included:
- Had the engine rebuilt and balance by a precision engineering company using original new audi parts provided by me.
- completely reupholstered using higher quality carpeting throughout and upgrading to leather using a company called Cabriolet Auto Trimmers
- Refurbish the alloy wheels and fit with Pirelli tyres
- Stainless steel free flow exhaust from Powerflow
She was awesome although I don't understand why they provided such a beautiful beast with an automatic gearbox.
Also, to be honest, I reckon the brake fade may have been due to supply and fit of the wrong brake pads.
