hi all, have got one of the dreaded BKP b6 engines on a 2005 plate and the oil pump has failed.
Am looking at replacing the engine with a second hand or recon.
Does anyone out there know if i can replace this with a later year engine (post crappy balance shaft hex bolt issue)?
Do not want to replace and go thru all this again!
Basically are there any other compatible engines out there that i can replace it with. Have seen a few on internet that are reconditioned
but upwards of a grand not including fitting. Don't want to scrap the car cos of this. Have even bought a cheapy run around (Renault Laguna-sorry not a VW)to give me a bit more time to get it fixed.
Any help/info gratefully received.
