My first post (after introductions), I need to check my electric window switch on the passenger side. What is the best way of removing the plastic trim which holds the switch in place without damaging it? I'm guessing if I use a screwdriver it will mark?

Also where would be the best place to purchase new switches beside VAG? I'd like to replace my headlight switch as the bezel has cracked and it looks a bit worse for wear as well as just restoring the general look of the interior. New electric mirror switch required as well.

The car is a 2005 4 motion (85,000 miles) which we've had from new and I'd like to keep it going internally and externally for as long as possible.

Thanks for your help.

Just picked up an older thread stating that window switches are only £18.00 approx which is great, any further advice on the above is greatly appreciated.

When I bought my car I wanted to replace the plastic window switch surround and searched YouTube for some removal videos.

MKV DIY Door Panel Removal - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ynh24TRcSg)

This is just one, there are a few out there, its just a matter of getting a screw driver under the trim and 'popping' it off, I put a cloth under the screwdriver at point of entry to help prevent scratches. It will take a bit of effort. The window electric switch block can easily be unclipped once the plastic trim has been popped. Lots of bits on Ebay for cheap replacement.
