Hi all, my lt 35 2005 seems terrible on the rear end , seems to spin and slip easy on acceleration , and also rear end seem to slide and wobble some what more than usuall when turning corners out of junctions, speed ramps etc , is it just mine ? is there anything i can do to keep it more firmly planted on the road ? , just recently fitted new Monroe shocks to try and help , tyres all ok , but not any different , Not looking forward to snow !!!

ha, probably not as much as it is here. we got floods on roads on hills, too much water to cope with.
anyway, when it stops, let us know what make they are and we can go from there. i have my suspicions though so lets see what they are :)

OK will do thanks , i can understand the spin from pulling away might be tyre related but back end seems unstable

If it does this mainly when unladen, its normal. A lot of Torque to rear Wheels and no weight = Wheel spin . If you think something unstable at rear, check U-Bolts.. common to need re-torquing...180Nm.

it must have stopped raining where he is long enough to check the tyres, so one must presume he has found some nice wanli bigcrash tyres with absolutely no tread left, and decided these are the problem but not had the balls to admit it :)

sorry chap, no offence meant, but we hand out advice for free and people don't come back to say anything, gets a bit annoying sometimes.

well alan02 has a good point about any rear drive van being light on the rear end, but event tyres are chinese and do get some mixed reviews, especially about wet grip. if it were my van i would be changing the tyres as soon as possible, either before they wear down or when they do wear down, depending on money, and fitting something a bit better. a customer had events on his a4. he changed them for michelins and couldn't believe the difference. soon had to get 2 new front wheel bearings as they were noisy but the tyres were drowning them out.
