hello everyone, i'm a new member since a few days ago after getting my first audi, a4 1.8t 03. i got it 2 weeks ago and not very experienced in how it works, ie. turbo to rpm ratio, when it kicks in and at what rev count per gear. 1st is 1500, 2nd it kicks in straight away, 3rd is around 2500 to 3200, 4th is around 3500 to 4500, don't know about 5th yet. is this normal? seems to change. any way was driving last night and the car started to stall, missing a beat so i popped the hood and the turbo housing pipe was glowing red hot and the engine management light was flashing. took it to the garage this morning and was told a coil stopped working and was leaking fuel into the housing pipe, going on fire. has this happened to anyone before? the mechanic said the turbo will be fine after the coil is changed but i have my doubts. the temp gauge was at 90 all the time but the engine seems very hot, even after short run. please help, thanks.
