Is there any way of changing the telephone ring tone on the standard Bluetooth installation..? (the abrupt ringing noise that cuts the music and blasts thru the speakers when someone is calling..!)

Do you have full MMI or Concert/Symphony and a RSAP phone?

Standard/basic MMI, I think.... Concert, without the roller-thingy next to the gear-stick....

I know on my RNSE in the A3 the ringtone which is on my phone rings through the speakers so Marimba is the alert.

On my A6 with full MMI you can change the ringtone by pressing TEL then SETUP then go from there.

Going to go & try this now myself, as the horrible, shrill tone it plays goes right through me & I try to answer the call before the tone plays just to avoid it.

Mine plays the ringtone. MMI High on my C6 PreFacelift/Facelift hash build (from factory!)

Just been out, pressed Tel & Set Up, but no options about ringtone - bummer. Stupid Basic +.

I'll have a play with it, but the 'shrill' noise is shockingly bad...! Talk about retro-ring..!

I'm going to make a guess and say that you have an Android phone?

If so, then you won't get your ringtone, or Google Maps turn by turn instructions via bluetooth. Or your phone to work with AMI.
And to quote Audi when I asked when there would be support for Android - "Never"
Apparently there are two many variations to cater for.

Your only real option is to go for an iPhone.
Or, funnily enough, it seems that it also works on old Nokias. Our works on call phone is a Nokia X2 and it seems to be supported.

I think there are adaptors available:

but I'm not going to bother, the miles are ticking up quite nicely now so hopefully my company will take it off me early and I can move on to a car which does support it, like a BMW or Merc AND will have a glovebox light!!

rSAP phones get the ringtone option only on cars with Phone Prep Low and upwards, the Concert/Symph just acts like a big handsfree bluetooth kit.

Just to show that it's actually possible (video at bottom);

Need Phone Prep Low as a base and a RSAP phone, note when my non-RSAP iPhone was connected the 'Set Ring Tone' menu was greyed out, then when I switched to my RSAP Samsung something-or-other the menu became available as the car was now using RSAP not HFP.

Off topic: can you pair 2 phones at the same time? I have a personal iPhone and work Nokia?

Unfortunately not, the only gripe I have with the BT.
