Noticed that my car the other day lost power as I went to overtake on the motorway.
Then the glow plug started flashing.

Looks like it could be the N75.

Thanks. Where is the N75 located. Cleared the codes and she's smoking...

The second fault wiki shows how to do an output test.
No idea where the N75 is on you car.

No idea where the N75 is on you car.

There isn't one on the common rail diesels' turbo.
It sounds as though the turbocharger needs replacing.
For mine it was this one...

Great.
Was just thinking of getting rid of it. No I possibly need a new turbo. I'll try see if there is play in shaft tomorrow.
What about the j724 unit as listed by VCDS? Can get that for £200
The car is now barely running.

Yes, that box on the photo with electrical plug. It should be calibrated on the turbo AFAIK and not normally a replaceble part, but woth a try.

Morning.
So shall I risk in with the module or just replace the whole turbo and module.
Great, just before xmas...

Is it a new part or used? I was always told it was not replaceable so can't advise on whether you should replace it as I have no knowledge of this.
Also try searching German ebay with the KKK and VAG part numbers as they are often more readily available and cheaper there.
You need to check if your turbo is :

059145702h
059145702k

Remanufactured. Has a 14 day return policy also...
Friend at work is a electrical genus. Perhaps I should get him to look inside.
But yesterday when I was trying to get to work the car was pumping out plumes of white-ish smoke, quite sweet smelling? So that points to turbo surely?
I will try look and see if the shaft has play in the turbo but the cars only done 90k miles.:(

Noticed that the clear fuel line had lots and lots of bubbles of air. Might this explain the smoking and loss of power?
Dirty fuel and blocked filter perhaps?
I've youtubed a clip
